Hi,

I have some questions. I am developing a web browser application in C#. My application requests some internet web services which don't work if I have no at least offline local web server address (like http://localhost:port/appl). The web browser (desktop application) starts some specially designed web pages (for example, navigating to http://localhost:port/appl/startpage.html). How do I embed the UltiDev in my offline web browser? How do I register my application with Cassini? Are there any examples of such application?

Hi there!

If we understand your situation correctly, you need to host some web services locally so that your C# application could call it. If that's the case, then yes, you would need to include our Cassini Web Server into your installation package, and register your ASMX application with Cassini server after both Cassini and your application were installed. Depending on whether your web service is based on .NET Framework 2.0 or 1.1, you will need to follow appropriate walk-through article to learn how to bundle UltiDev Cassini Web Server along with your application. It's actually pretty easy - we built UltiDev Cassini specifically for developers who need redistributable web server for their ASP.NET applications.
