Is Cassini compatible with Vista? Since Cassini is installed as a service, will this have any issues with Vista UAC or other security issues.

UltiDev Cassini is compatible with Vista. We tested our Cassini with the version of Vista that was current at the time of the Cassini release and it was running quite alright. There is actually an application, the WebGuide4 for MCE/Vista, that is targeting Vista and is bundled with UltiDev Cassini. They don't seem to have any significant issue running our Cassini on Vista.

I'm getting:

Starter.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

when installing Cassini 1.0.2 onto Vista RC1,
any suggestions?

Hi,

Could you please look into Windows Event Log (Application bin) and see if there are any error entries there related to UltiDev Cassini? If you are getting "COM object with CLSID {72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8} is either not valid or not registered" error, please follow the steps described in this article. If not, please send us you event log entries related to the issue.
