I think I know the answer but...

Is there anyway to launch a process with a visible window from asp.net when using the host process ?

I can do it using "UWS.InteractiveServer.Clr4x86.exe" etc but this seems slower and does not auto-restart etc ?

Thanks,

Chris.

Hi, Chris!

Registered/hosted apps are running inside a Windows host process, which can run even when no user is logged in, and therefore has no assumption of the possibility to run interactive (GUI) programs. Starting an interactive program from a service seems to be possible, but using UWS Interactive Host could be a better choice: since you need to seemingly need to start a new windows on the server, then crashing app can be restarted by the user for whom the window is shown.
