UWS is much more stable and resilient than Cassini. It's much better at surviving application crashes and at restarting its host processes. If your run lots of computers hosting applications under Cassini, your experience with UWS is very likely to be better - mostly through much shorter downtimes.
Unlike Cassini, UWS provides a
choice of host process user identity: Local System (powerful/dangerous) and Network Service (restricted/safe). For those running lots of Cassini, migration could start with simply upgrading to UWS to take advantage of better stability of UWS, and then for applications requiring higher security, move them off the Cassini compatibility hosting mode, to the UWS mode where Network Service host identity is available.
Overall, upgrading from Cassini to UWS is a very good idea in vast majority of cases.
