Since it's impossible for us to tell why any given application is working under IIS but not UWS due to multiple configuration settings in both, would you mind providing more information on how application is registered with UWS and in IIS. Screenshots are always helpful - they can be attached to forum posts.

Also, please check whether the application in question uses IIS7-specific configuration settings in its web.config. In general, if an application can be configured to run in IIS6, it can be configured to run under UWS, but if application is IIS7-specific, you would need to contact application vendor to rectify the problem.

An application won't work with UWS only if the application is IIS7-dependent and therefor is incompatible with any other web server. To tell whether this is the case, you should look at application's web.config file and see whether it has IIS7-specific section in it, and if so, whether web.config also has corresponding settings in non-IIS7-specific sections. If both are present, then application is not IIS7-dependent and the problem is in something else. But first thing to do is determine whether the application is compatible only with IIS7.
