First time installation on Windows XP SP3 with .NET 2.0 Framework installed; when trying to open the Web Application Server Explorer it "encountered a problem and needs to close". Rebooting, re-installing with same result. Thanks

Hi there!

This is likely to be bug currently listed at the top of known problem list. The workaround is described there too - installing .NET 2.0 SP2.

Thanks for the information, I'll give that a try. Funny, I used just about every term related to the error I could think of when searching the forum... except that one ("system.missingmethodexception"). Cheers!

Yes, installed .NET 2.0 SP2 and was then able to open Server Explorer; configure and run my web application. Thanks
