Regarding UWS 2.0.17

Hi,

We are using UWS 2.0.17 to host our web installer project.User will run through the screen to install different components.It was working fine.

Now we got a requirement to launch an application UI once its installed Successfully.

We are using an exe(C#) which runs some commands to launch the application UI.Now am calling this exe from the batch file which installs this application.Application is installed successfully but the UI is not getting launched.

I enquired this on net and found that i need to check the checkbox "Allow service to interact with service" at "UltiDev Web Server Pro" service i did so and when trying to restart the service its not getting restarted" ,its throwing the error "Error 1053 : The Service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

Could you please lookinto this.

Hi there!

By application’s UI, do you mean a web browser pointed to your application? If so, your installer should use “autostart” command line switch (assuming your installer uses our command line application registration tool). That will bring up default browser pointing to your application at the end of the installation process.

UWS windows service settings should not be altered to ensure stability of applications it is running. Please not that your application may not be the only one hosted by our web server, and tweaking undocumented settings may break other applications or make server less secure.
