Hi Guys,

I have never run into this issue before.

System has UltiDev Web Server Pro getting installed as a redistributable from our installer program. When we first installed the service the app was working. It was all green indicators. However, I decided to do a restart on the app and then it would not go back to green. It would stay red indicators for all UltiDev services. I attempted to force restart the service from Windows System services and this also had no success. It would not respond and timed-out. Eventually I attempted to try installing my app again using our installer and whenever it gets to the UltiDev it would roll-back the actions.

Customer is running Windows XP SP3.

I have attached the installer logs.

Please help.

Thanks,
J

Hi, J.

Thank you for posting log files. They don't tell the whole story, unfortunately. Please take a look Windows Event Log - it should have relevant info. Please feel free to export Windows event log (Application) and attach it to your post. If it has sensitive data, please put it password-protected ZIP archive and send ZIP the password separately along with the link to the post.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Hi UltiDev,

Hopefully this log file helps. I really need to get UltiDev installed again and services started.

Please find attached....
All of the logs related to UltiDev can be found on 10/9/12 between 4PM - 7PM filter

I have done a review of this log file and cannot find anything unusual. At this point whenever we now try to install the ultidev it just rolls back the action and never completes.

Is there some special flag I can run on the MSI to do a full uninstall from the system or repair or something? The UltiDev is not even on the system at this point. Really can't figure out what is going on.

Thanks,
J

Hello, J.

EVT file you have provided shows no events related to UWS installation - not even ones written by MSI API itself at the beginning of the process. Please see if you could clean up Windows event log, run UWS installation and let it fail, and then collect EVT file.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Hi UltiDev,

I did everything you said... however, I also decided to remove the lingering C:\Program Files\UltiDev folder before I attempted to re-install.

Anyway to make a long story short... this time everything installed perfectly and smooth. Thanks again for your responses.

Hi, J.

We are happy the problem went away, but we are puzzled as to why, and if you managed to capture the EVT file with UWS installations entries only, we'd highly appreciate if you send is to us for analysis.

Sorry we could not be more helpful,
