Hi, I'm trying to visualize some crystal reports, and i found that the server is not recognizing the path http://localhost/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/, if i try to browse the directories i can access http://localhost/aspnet_client/system_web/ but when i try to see the 2_0_50727 folder i get a not found error.

Why is this happening, i tried changing folder permissions, but nothing, and also find that if i change the folder name i can navigate it without any problem.

Hello, Fernando.

Depending on the .NET Framework you are using and bitness of the host process, physical location of the client ASP.NET folder will be one the following:

  • C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\asp.netclientfiles
  • C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\asp.netclientfiles
  • C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\asp.netclientfiles
  • C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\asp.netclientfiles

Crystal report client files should be placed in those folders to be accessible.

Please see if this link for more information.

Please let us know if this information was helpful.

The files are placed in the folder you mention, and also placed in the folder aspnet_client inside the app folder. The problem is, that i am browsing directories from the web browser and when i click the folder 2_0_50727 i cannot access, this is the same that happens when the app tries to find files that uses to display the reports, like css and toolbar images. The problem is that the app doesn't find these files, but they are there, they exists in the same location the app is looking for.

Hi!

Assuming your application runs under a "Network Service" host, please try switching your application temporarily to a host process with "Local System" security context. To do that select the application in UWS Explorer and click "Move to another host process" | "Move to new host...". If application starts working properly under Local System account, then the issue is probably access rights. To check whether that's the case, move application back to a "Network Service" host and add read access rights to "v2.0.50727" folder under C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework.

If that works, please let us know - we may be able to make our web server grant proper access rights to those folders during our product installation.

Build 10 is released. It will create client script folders and/or grant access rights to it to NETWORK SERVER user.

Hi there.

Scripts in "/aspnet_client" are supported starting with UWS build 11 (As of Feb 6 2012, current build is 14). Support of "aspnet_client" folder is limited to applications with no virtual directories (other than "/").

If the issue your are experiencing is caused by something else, please post detailed error information.

I had the same problem but i got the solution.
a. I created another host new application (statis html web site).
b.I selected the application folder to be C:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client,application name is aspnet_client, no default
document.
c.I edit the port number to be the same with the same port number my application runs.

I ran my report from my applcation and it worked as expected
