I'm using Cassini Web Server for my personal use.

But when we start the web site using this web server, it opens lot of socket connections on the port specified in web server.

Most of the socket connections are having the state TIME_WAIT. We can use TCPView application to see this.

Why this is happening? What to do so that minimum number of socket connections get opened?

Hi there!

Server listens to the clients, and connections may be opened on instructions from keep-alive headers. Also, if your application's "keep in memory" check box is on, then server will periodically ping the application using its port to prevent it from getting unloaded as idle. Here's the link to the screenshot.

Hello, David.

What does make you think that Cassini is unable to ping your application? Does the application itself work when you browse it? Also, could you please go to http://localhost:7756/, make a screenshot of your application registration settings and attach it to your forum response so we could take a look?

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.
