Hello All,

I use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 for developing ASP.NET applications; therefore, I use Cassini.
The entire bundle has been working just perfectly for a long time until a couple of weeks ago, when I accessed an application in development hosted by Cassini, my browser popped up an NTLM authentication dialog box.
Ever since, any code that included access to any URL at Cassini stopped working as well.

I have absolutely no idea what gone wrong and will appreciate any help on this issue.
Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Lev

Hi, Lev.

Do you use UltiDev Cassini or Visual Studio Development Web Server? The reason we ask is that UltiDev Cassini does not support HTML auth at all, so we suspect you may be using internal Visual Studio web server.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt reply.
Indeed I use VS Development Web Server (which as far as I understand is a Cassini family member).

Best regards,

Lev,

Our Cassini server has common parts with VS dev server, but not really a related product (think WebKit browsers: common core but Apple Safari and Google Chrome are separate products from different vendors.) Although we can't provide support for Microsoft products, however, just from out experience, if you bring up your web application project's properties and go to the Web tab, there you'll find Servers section. If you don't need integrated authentication, be sure to uncheck "NTLM authentication" checkbox under "User Visual Studio Development Server" group.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Dear UtilDev Team,

It was so obvious that I am actually ashame about my question :-)
Especially, since I've been playing with this checkbox while writing another application that does require authentication.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
Lev
