Hi there!

Let us make sure we understand the problem correctly:
- You are hosting the web service in UltiDev Cassini;
- You can navigate to the .ASMX page of the web service;
- But when you click the WSDL link, you get 403.

If that's what happens, please let us know which version of UltiDev Cassini you have installed.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Hi there thanks for quick reply, please see the responses below:

- You are hosting the web service in UltiDev Cassini; Yes
- You can navigate to the .ASMX page of the web service; Yes
- But when you click the WSDL link, you get 403. No I can browse the WSDL through the browser

The issue I have is that within a new project in visual studio 05 that references the web service, i try to view the WSDL in the browser, it is here I get the error

thanks

Hi,

Thank you for the additional information.

We are not entirely clear on the meaning of the statement where you say that you are viewing WSDL in the browser within the web service client project. In the web service client context, web service operations usually include a) generation of the client proxy, for which WSDL needs to be referenced by Visual Studio's "Add Web Reference" function, or b) web service call itself. We have difficulty figuring out where browsing for the WSDL comes in in the WS client context.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

Could you please contact us via email so we could exchange screenshots? Right-clicking on neither the web reference, nor WSDL in the web service client project in VS 2005 brings up "View in Browser" item in its context menu.
