I have installed UltiDev Cassini for VS2005 twice. I've followed the instructions in the "Creating Visual Studio 2005 Setup Project..." guide. However, when I view the Prerequisites screen of my setup project, I do not see any option for the Cassini web server as shown in the guide.

I'm running:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600

Here is the information from the VS "About" screen:

Anyone have any ideas why I can't see the UltiDev server options?

Hi there!

Is it possible that your Visual Studio 2005 is installed in the location other than default? If so, then during the installation of UltiDev Cassini a message box should have popped up saying that Visual Studio 2005 was not found. If that's the case, please check out the work-around. If you didn't get the message-box, please check in the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs whether you have UltiDev Cassini Web Server for Visual Studio 2005 Developers. If you do have it, but still don't see UltiDev Cassini among the Prerequisites, please let us know whether there is a "UltiDev Cassini Web Server for ASP.NET 2.0" folder in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\BootStrapper\Packages".

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

No, it is installed in the standard location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8

Yes, I have both of those as well as "UltiDev Cassini Web Server Explorer".

Interestingly, the entry in Add/Remove programs for "UltiDev Cassini Web Server for Visual Studio 2005 Developers" indicates that it is used "frequently" with today's date. The others show as used rarely. So I seems that VS is actually seeing it, but it just doesn't show up.

Here is what I have under the directory "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\BootStrapper\Packages\UltiDev Cassini Web Server for ASP.NET 2.0":
cassiniexplorersetup.msi
CassiniServer2Setup.msi
product.xml
en\package.xml

Everything seems correct here, but I have no other bootstrapper packages to compare it to so I don't know for sure.

I'm beginning to think there is a bigger problem here. I downloaded and extracted a Microsoft MDAC bootstrapper prerequisite from http://msdn.microsoft.co...us/vs2008/bb898654.aspx to see if VS is misbehaving. Indeed, I don't see what I should be seeing. It appears that MDAC 2.8 is available as part of the VS installation, but MDAC 2.81 is what I was hoping to see for this test.

So it seems that Visual Studio is having a problem with the bootstrapper packages in general. I guess I'm really stuck now.
