Hi,

that might sound strange to you, but is it possible to disable remote connections (like it was in original cassini)?
I need to provide some applications as "standalone" (also for development) but can't use a firewall...

Best Regards,
Alex

Hi, Alex.

We've been around long enough to be surprised by almost nothing :-). As a matter of fact, that's not the first time your question was asked and answered. In short, UltiDev Cassini does not have a setting that would filter out all remote requests for a given app, but you can do it rather easily in the code.

Please let us know if this information has helped.

Thanks,

this at least helps a little bit to keep unwanted viewers away but doesn't really "hide" the webserver from outside (our IT department...).

Well, as long as there is no firewall between the Cassini and the outside world (or your IT), those parties will be able to figure out that there is a listener on a port, even if the listener immediately rejects incoming connections based on some criteria. Even WebDev.WebServer.exe, which responds to requests from the localhost only, still would be detected as a listener by the outside world. The code snipped in the forum post does for your app what WebDev.WebServer and original MS Cassini sample did.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.
