problems installing cassini trying to install webguide 4

i'm trying to install webguide 4 for windows vista and it gives me the following error message:


(Prerequisite check for system component UltiDev Cassini Web Server for ASP.NET 2.0 failed with the following error message:
"Windows Script component is not found on this computer. Please download Windows Script from Microsoft web site."


See the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\ULYSES\AppData\Local\Temp\VSDC735.tmp\install.log' for more information.)


i also tried to install cassini and it gives me the same error message can someone help with this i have no idea what i'm doing wrong pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

Hi there!

It happens sometimes - Windows Script component gets removed for some reason, even though it should not. Please download and install it, and try WG4 installation again.

thanks for responding i tried that download and it's telling me theres not enough storage available to process this command. i noticed that download is for windows xp i have windows vista is there a script for vista that i can download?

Hi again!

Do you have an idea why it's complaining about storage space? Do you have enough space on you system drive?

According to MS TechNet, Windows Script 5.7 is shipped with Vista, so we hope that once you get past storage issue, you may be able to install it on Vista.

hey there, i don't understand why it says theres not enough storage

total size of hard disk- 228gb
disk partition- 124gb free
total available graphic memory 1534mb
dedicated grafics memory 256
dedicated system memory 0mb?
shared sytem memory 1278mb
local disc c -123gb free
total size 228gb

this is what i found did i miss anything ? sorry i'm new to all of this

Hmm, not good. Something's off and it's hard to tell what. You'll need to get WSH (Windows Scripting) installed somehow, but when MS components refuse to install on MS OS, it's hard to figure out how to beat it into submission. All our subsequent suggestions will be more of the "try hot milk with honey" guesswork kind, but still. Try to reboot into safe mode and then once again into normal mode, and try installing windows script again.

that one downloaded but it still gives me the same error message as before when i try to install cassini or wg4 do i need to use command prompt and regester if so whats the command

WSH file name is "c:\Windows\System32\wshom.ocx", but to see if it's registered properly you will need to open regex.exe and check whether this key: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8}" has anything inside.

i checked c: for wshom.ocx and i looked for regex.exe and i i did a search and found nothing am i looking in the right spot

When you say you checked C:, did you look into "c:\Windows\System32" folder for the presence of wshom.ocx file?

Sorry, we have misstated file name of registry editor. To launch registry editor (regedit.exe), please to Start -> Run, enter regedit.exe and then when it opens, please expand to
My Computer
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
CLSID
and please do Edit | Find and search for "{72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8}".

Please let us know if it was found.

hey i found wshom.ocx tried to open it but it tell tells me to open with so i dont know what to open with so i'm leaving it alone. i found the regestry editor i looked in the clsid files and "{72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8}". wasn't in there i checked twice and nothing no file with this discription was there"{72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8}".i made sure i checked one by one what does that mean cause i have no clue. LOL.

Please try this:
- Do Start -> Run
- Paste this
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wshom.ocx
and then hit Enter. It should say registration of wshom.ocx has succeeded if everything is OK.
- Try installing Cassini or WG4 again.

YES IT WORKED!!!!!! I DOWNLOADED CASSINI WOW I'VE SPENT OVER THREE DAYS TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU THE F---ING MAN !!! NOW HOW DO I REGESTER CASSINI IT'S ASKING FOR THE FOLLOWING:

NOW I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNLOADING WG4 IT'S TAKING LONG TO DOWNLOAD IT DIDN'T DO THAT BEFORE. BEFORE IT WOULD JUST SHOW THE ERROR MESSAGE I THINK IT'S WORKING I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHEN IT FINISHES DOWNLOADING FINGERS CROSSED.
