can cassini used without installation? like WAMP or MSAS

Dear UltiDev Team,

.. i try cassini to run my application .. it great ... i dont need IIS anymore

my question is ... can i used cassini without install the cassini .. maybe i just copying the file in the some folder ...?
thats mean .. can u build cassini like MSAS (mambo stand alone server) ...that it can used without running installation..

cos i want build web application.. that put in media CD ... and its impossible to install cassini

Thank you for kind words about our product.

We get asked about non-installation version of Cassini once in a while, but the biggest issue with that is that request processor assembly has to be registered in GAC, and therefore requires installation, which at very least will register that DLL in GAC during installation, and unregister it during uninstallation.

ok .. i understand that cassini need processor asssembly that has to registered in Global Assembly Cache..

i just curious ...
this cassini can be made more simple...

example we can create small application.

if this application running (start the cassini),
the first task's is register the dll

after process registered GAC done, then ultidevcassinwebserver2.exe can be used

if we stop this application, then the application unregistered DLL file from GAC... and close the form ..

thats all.. what do you think ?

or maybe you can share about the file ?
whats files that has to be registered? maybe i can do it (create small application) ...

anyway ... thanks a lot pal ...

In order to support this use case there would have to be different build of the request processor assembly. Otherwise, your program may break existing Cassini installations by overriding current GAC registration of the request processor assembly.
