Steve,
we have tested the installation with several localized versions of XP, including German, Russian, and Korean, to make sure we don't have problems with different folder names. We have quite a few people from China who downloaded and installed the product and have not heard about this before.
To help you troubleshoot the problem, could you please post the entire error message, if possible? Also, please check Windows Event Log (Application) for more error information.
