Have been running Cassini + myApp on my PC for some time now.

We then installed Cassini on a laptop (Windows 7) that is connected to the PC via a lan.

For some reason, the laptop firewall reported an attempt to connect to it from Cassini on the PC.

Why would this be? It is of some concern here!

Hi,

UltiDev Cassini does not attempt to contact other machines in the network. Cassini installer does attempt to contact UltiDev when a product is being installed or uninstalled, with no private data of any kind collected and sent - only Cassini version and whether it's getting installed or uninstalled is reported. But Cassini server itself is not attempting to contact other computers.

You mentioned that firewall on the notebook reported that Cassini from another machine is trying to reach it, but firewalls normally can't tell which process on the remote machine is calling. How did you conclude it was Cassini on a desktop calling the notebook? Also, is there a possibility that an application running under Cassini calls other machines, for example making web service calls or serviced components (COM+) calls?

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.
