On my development PC Cassini runs very very slowly, but runs fine elsewhere. I'm not debugging through Visual Studio or anything - its just installed as a web server.

Is there any way of diagnosing this?

Thanks

Hello, Max.

Unfortunately we are not aware of any problem that would have made Cassini slow.

Does your entire system become slow, or only Cassini applications? Try running your app in debugger under Cassini and see if you get to a breakpoint in Page_Load quickly - to figure out where is the bottleneck: networking/Cassini, or your application.

I've found the answer. It appears the if you have IPv6 enabled on your PC and are using Firefox, viewing localhost sites runs dog slow (not just for Cassini - any web server)!

For anyone who runs into this, the answer is to disable IPv6 on your PC, or use http://127.0.0.1 instead of http://localhost to refer to locally hosted websites. In IE this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Thank you very much for the info - it is definitely very valuable. Do you run XP, Vista or something else?

I am running XP but as Vista has IPv6 enabled by default I expect it would be more of a problem in Vista.
