hello,

we redistribute our webapplication with the ultidev webserver. is it possible to install the ultidev webserver service with an other servicename instead of the default one "UltiDev Cassini Web Server for ASP.NET 2.0"?

Service name is hard-coded and therefore cannot be changed. Would you mind sharing the use case you have for changing service name?

hi,

we develop software for pbx's. our administration tool is an aspx application. with .net 1.1 we also shipped the cassini webserver. now we changed to .net 2.0. the original cassini does not work with .net 2.0. so we decided to change to ultidev cassini webserver.
we do not sell our software directly to the customers. we have distributors which do that. they are also responsible for the installation. they know the webserver with a different name in the service manager. we would like to keep this name.

This should be a relatively easy training item for your distributors. They could be trained to use "Restart Cassini for ASP.NET 2.0 Service" menu item from the Start -> Programs -> UltiDev -> Cassini Web Server instead of having to go to Services applet.
