When I check the local services, the UltiDev Web Server Pro is showing up on the list, and it's not started.
Startup type is automatic.

How can I get this to start up automatically when my application is started?

I've also tried adding:
ServiceController sc = new ServiceController("UltiDev Web Server Pro");
sc.Start();

to the application itself, to try to make sure the service is running, and I get:
"Cannot open UltiDev Web Server Pro" service on computer '.'.

I'm really not sure what to try next.

Hi!

Does this problem occur on multiple systems or just on one? Could you please uninstall UWS, cleanup Windows Event Log, then reinstall UWS and collect Windows Event Log as described here?

Best regards,

It happened on one system one time, and after uninstalling/reinstalling on the same system, it worked fine. I tested a few times after that, and it worked fine. Hopefully it will be OK from now on.

However, I'm having a different problem on a different system now.
I am attaching the logs and screen shots.

Basically- when I look at the UltiDev Web Server Explorer, the entry for UltiDev Web Server App Redirector is green, and the entry for Default Shared Host Process is red, and cannot be started.
The UltiDev services are all running properly.

This request for help can be canceled- I believe this was related to .NET 4.0 not being installed on the system.
I believe everything should be working now.

Thank you anyway!

This last issue could be related to a bug that will be fixed in build 19, where .NET 4 Client Profile, which is missing .NET system.web assembly, is recognized as legitimate .NET installation. The fix is being tested and will be released soon with build 19.

If it helps for your testing purposes:

The computer I was installing on did have the .NET 4 client profile, but not the full framework.
The web application that I was installing required .NET 4.0 to run.
When I registered the application via InstallShield custom action, I used the /Clr:4, so maybe if .NET 4 isn't installed, the application won't register or start properly? Just a thought.

Thank you much for the update!

When adding prerequisites/dependencies to the installation package, please try to specify .NET Framework 4 Full. We'll try to ensure in build 19 that 4.0 applications can't get registered unless .NET 4 Full is present.
