I have downloaded and installed UltiDev Cassini 1.1 and 2.0 on a laptop running Windows XP Home. I don't have visual studio installed. Cassini tells me it has skipped some files because I don't have visual studio, but that the installation was sucessful. It then laods up http://localhost:7756/ in internet explorer. This gives a page not found error.

I only have options to start and stop the service from the start menu. I did this and it started and stopped ok, but could still not get to the url to set up my web site. Please help.

Hi!

We are sorry for the inconvenience. It looks like UltiDev Cassini Explorer component is not installed on your machine for some reason. Please try to download and install it. If it fails to install please let us know what error message do you get. There may be additional information in the windows Event Log (Application) in case installation fails.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I did already try to download and install the explorer separately but the installation failed. I have looked in the event log and there are several errors reported I have copied these below.

I have managed to get my website working using command line calls from a dos prompt, but I still can't easily administer it and see what sites are running where, like I would be able to with the expolrer.

Hi,

It is hard to tell what causes Cassini Explorer fail to install, but we can try to find out. If you would like that, please do this:
- Clean up Event Log (application and system);
- Start installing Cassini Explorer and let it fail;
- Export Event Log (application and system) as EVT files and send them to us. Please contact us via email so we could respond and provide email address where to send EVT files. Please include link to this thread in your message.
