USING ULTIDEV WITH WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION

Hello,

We are trying to test an Application that we normally host on IIS with your UltiDev Web Server Pro software, at the moment I am only able to set the Application as NETWORK SERVICE or LOCAL SERVICE whereas in IIS you can set the Application Pool (The service that runs the application within IIS) as a Windows Authentication user, some of our clients would require this.

Our application connects to an SQL Server and therefore needs an account assigned to it that has access to the SQL Server and if Integrated Security is set to TRUE then IIS and the Application will use the account assigned to the application pool.

My question to you is; How do I set a Windows Account to the application in Web Server Pro so that when Windows Authentication is enabled it does not use NETWORK SERVICE or LOCAL SERVICE?

Hi there!

User contexts other than NETWORK_SERVICE and LOCAL_SYSTEM are not supported, unfortunately. The workaround, besides the obvious one - using SQL auth with encrypted connection strings, could be moving DAL into a ServicedComponent (COM+ package) running out-of-process under different user identity.
