Hi,

Seems like cassini is a great alternative for IIS and seems to work well when you want to debug an existing ASP project. (Only if your using an XP Pro).

But im currently having problem working it with XP Home.

It ses in the installation guide that "I have to create an IIS virtual directory because VS 2003 cannot load a web project unless it’s hooked up to IIS." which is a FITFALL, because XP Home doesnt have any IIS or IIS Component to create a virtual directory. So everytime i open an existing project, it throws an error messege "No Web Server was detected at this URL://../..". Thus i cant even create a new ASP.NET project using cassini as my default web server coz VS2003 always look for IIS.

So, does anyone have a work around for these??? I badly need your help.

Hope the UltiDev Cassini Team can help me with this problem...

P.S.

Chad,

unfortunately you may be out of luck on this one, unless you can upgrade either to XP Pro, or to Visual Studio 2005, which has free Express editions and does not require IIS. VS2003 web app projects can't live without IIS, and IIS can't live on XP Home.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.
