I have tried to install UWS Pro on a brand new PC running XP Embedded which I have done on several older PCs in the past. The install reports a successful install but when I run it I get "UltiDev Web Server Application Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
The Error signature is below
EventType : clr20r3 P1 : uws.explorer.exe P2 : 1.0.0.19
P3 : 5197b045 P4 : system.drawing P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 506bef25
P7 : 7b0 P8 : 6c P9 : system.argumentexception

This is from the Event log
EventType clr20r3, P1 uws.explorer.exe, P2 1.0.0.19, P3 5197b045, P4 system.drawing, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 506bef25, P7 7b0, P8 6c, P9 system.argumentexception, P10 NIL.

Hope you can help

Hi,

Windows XP Embedded is not officially supported because it may not have kernel http driver, the http.sys installed. We were not aware of successful deployments on XP Embedded. Could you please confirm that you did indeed have successful installations of UWS on XP Embedded. If so please let us know, if possible, which build of UWS you have installed.

The error you have submitted, however, hints that .NET Framework installed on the target system, is somehow incomplete. Which .NET version, including service packs, do you have installed? Please consider submitting bug report the way outlined here. That will give us target system information.

Best regards,
UltiDev Team.

thanks for your reply. UWS has worked on XP embedded using various builds from the last 2 years. http.sys is installed according to UWS logs. .Net versions installed are
v1.0
v2.0 SP1
V2.0.50727
v3.0
v3.0 SP1
v4.0.30319

Thanks for your help on this.

Hi,

Could you please navigate to http://localhost:7756/ on the target system? If you see an UWS diagnostic page, we'll get an idea whether the problem is limited to only UWS Explorer application.

Hi,

This is kind of a good news/bad news situation. The bad news is that we still are not sure what makes UWS Explorer crash. The good news, if you use app registration command line utility, you don't have to use UWS Explorer in most cases.
