Hello,

I downloaded the latest version of the Webserver (UltiDevCassiniWebServer1.exe - .Net Framework 1.1) and did the install.
After the installation I had the UltiDev / Cassini Webserver program group in my menu, but the folder was empty.
I have no service in the services, too. There was no error during installation. The only thing that irritated me was, that during the installation, the installation progressbar seemed to run forward and then backwards. Looked like it was installing and immediatly uninstalling something. But there was no error message.

Afterwards I tried to install CassiniExplorerSetup.msi and got an error message:
Cassinie Explorer Exception:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): The COM object with CLSID {72C24DD5-D70A-438B-8A42-98424B88AFB8} is invalid or not registered at CassiniExplorer.Installer.CreateProgramIcon(...
- more isnt visible. I translated the german message into english. Maybe it differs in the english OS version 8)

Probably this installation problem gives a hint to my general installation problem.

Maybe you can help me :)

Regards
Gonzo

P.S. Additional Info:
OS: W2k SP4 Geman
.Net Framework 1.1 (v1.1.4322)
MS Visual Studio .NET 2003 v7.1.3088 German

Hello, Gonzo!

The most likely cause of this problem is Microsoft Windows Scripting Host component (C:\WINDOWS\system32\wshom.ocx) missing from your PC. Please check if it's there. If not, please download and install the WSH and then try the installation of Cassini again. We do not include WSH into our package as Microsoft seems to claim that it should already be there.

Please let us know if this helped.

Best regards,
