I migrated this server from another developer we alot of websites. about 20 on our ethernet. The problem is that it explodes in memory usage... over 1gb. and fails often. Is it possible to upgrade without loosing existing applications? I want to upgrade or go back to native IIS. But i am wondering how long these critical websites will be down.

Also sometimes the server just stops and when i try to restart it the service does not start back... i have to try over and over... this usually happen on fridays...

Please help

Hi there!

It appears you have two distinct problems: one is memory usage and another services not starting.
- To diagnose the cause of the first one please unregister all your applications and let Cassini Server run on its own hosting only its internal Cassini Explorer applications. See if memory usage is bad and let us know. If not, then it's probably not Cassini issue and may be a problem with an applications.
- Cassini Service failing to start may be caused by different things, but when that happens, Windows Event Log (Application) usually has relevant Error entries. Please take a look if that's the case. Also, just like with the previous issue, try to unregister all applications and see if failure to start service is related to Cassini or maybe to an application it's hosting.

Finally, consider running the Alpha build of our upcoming Web Server Pro. Although it does not yet have production-level stability, it addresses some of Cassini's most common issues.

Please let us know what you have found.
