We are getting close to completing our web application but we need the new version of Cassini that contains .NET Framework 4.0 support. Your release date seems to keep slipping. Can you say with some assuredness when at least the beta will be available? This is very important to us. Thanks.

Peter,

The project turned out to be vastly more complex than we thought it would be, but the good news is that release is truly not far away. However, the first release won't be redistributable - one will need to download and install it manually, and it may not be rock-solid as it's a complete re-write.

At this moment we are finishing working on the Application Management console UI piece, and will probably make an installer a week from now. We'd like to make the undocumented Alpha released before May 1st. If you follow us on Twitter, we'll post the info there for enthusiasts after it's released.

Does the "first release" you are refering to mean the alpha, the beta, or production release. If you are referring to the production release, does this mean that it won't be redistributable until the next production release sometime long in the future?

First release is going to be Alpha, and it's going to be undocumented, non-redistributable. All subsequent releases, Betas and production, will be documented, supported and redistributable.
