Hi,

Is there a LIST of known bugs/issues (and available fixes if there are) for Windows Vista and Windows 7?

I'd like to know the situations wherein Cassini will not work. Thanks!

Hi there.

Here it is.

1. No support of WCF web services using wsHttpBinding when accessed via non-localhost (or 127.0.0.1 or [::1]) addresses. It's a WCF bug affecting all web servers except IIS/WAS.
Work-arounds:

  • Use UWS and ASP.NET 4.
  • Use basicHttpBinding.
  • Use ASMX web services.


2. No out-of-the-box support for native 32-bit components (DLLs, ActiveX, ODBC dirvers) on 64-bit systems. Applications that are all-managed, or have 64-bit native components are fine.
Work-around: unsupported 32-bit build of UltiDev Cassini provided on request.
Permanent fix availability: Feature added in the UltiDev Web Server Pro.

3. In some cases installation on Vista/7 fails due to an error in MSI generated by Visual Studio 2005 setup project.
Work-around: fixed build is provided upon request.
Permanent fix availability: Fixed in UltiDev Web Server Pro.
