Hi,

When attempting to install Cassini 1.1 RC1 the installer gets right to the end and then pops up a dialog with an error on it.

I cant seem to paste an image, the text on the dialog is:

UltiDev Cassini Web Server 1.1 Release Candidate 1

There is an error in XML document(2,121). --> Array cannot be null.
Parameter named: array

Hi there!

Could you please let us know which version of Windows are you using? If you could also provide any specific steps leading to the error, we'd greatly appreciate the information and will try to correct the problem.

Hi,

WinXp SP2. I double clicked on the installer executable and set it running without altering any defaults. I can reproduce this every time on this machine.

Cheers.

Sorry, we could not reproduce the problem. If you notice something particular that leads to the problem - may be something in the windows Event Log - please let us know, we'd like to fix the problem.

Hello, Fred.

It doesn't ring the bell, but since the CassiniMetabase.xml is about only XML document the product deals with, please take a look at it. It's located at
Code:
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\UltiDev\Cassini\CassiniMetabase.xml

Please send it to us so we could look at it too.

Thank you,
UltiDev Team.

Fred,

We were unable to reproduce the issue - we are sorry. Position (2, 121) in the file is the end of file. Although following has very slim chances of success, please replace the content of your CassiniMetabase.xml file with the following and try installation one more time
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
Code:
<CassiningMetabase xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<Application FrameworkVersion="1.1" KeepRunning="true">
<PhysicalPath>C:\Program Files\UltiDev\Cassini Explorer</PhysicalPath>
<Port>7756</Port>
<Name>Cassini Explorer</Name>
<Description>Cassini Web Server Configurator</Description>
<DefaultDocument />
<ApplicationID>4fd8b3f7-bc73-4583-95fe-e7b69b10a3ae</ApplicationID>
</Application>
</CassiningMetabase>

(If your Windows difrectory located on a drive other than C:, please update the value of <PhysicalPath> tag in the snippet above accordingly.)

UltiDev

Thanks for your answer,

In fact, if no "Application" node exist in xml, Cassini crash with the same error (2,121).... During normal installation "Cassini explorer" is the first and only one "Application" in xml, so cassini server is ok for that :-)

Thanks again.

Regards

Fred

PS: When a RC2 release will be available ?

Hello, Fred!

Thank you for the feedback. There will be no RC2 - we are going to make General Availability release Cassini within a couple of weeks or so. We are working on it right now. Let us know if you would be interested in getting pre-release build to help us with working out last kinks before we lunch it?

Fred, it was a bit unclear - were you able to work around the issue by pasting the piece of XML into CassiniMetabase file?

Cheers,
UltiDev Team.
