Is there any way to pre load a webservice on the Web Server start? Or after a reboot?

We are using UtiDev Cassini to host a local web service on a laptop which is consumed by multiple windows applications. The laptop is turned off when not in use and every initial hit to the webservice after starting takes about 10s.

Thanks

Hi there!

Actually, when you register an application with UltiDev Cassini, the default setting makes the application preloaded since Cassini itself hits the home page of the app once in a while. If you go to http://localhost:7756/ on the machine where Cassini Server is running, and open the registration page of any registered application, you will see the "Always keep application in memory to improve first page response time" checkbox. If it's checked - the app is preloaded. If you search our Cassini Visual Studio Developer Guide for /AppKeepRunning, you will find details about how to use it. General Developer Guide explains how to use Cassini server in command-line mode to register apps and how to achieve the same goal in non-Visual Studio situation using /DontKeepRunning parameter.

Please let us know if this information was helpful.
