Good morning !

Yesterday, I have download the Web Server and it's really great.

But I have a little problem. In one of my aspx page, I create an excel document.

When I test this page in the Visual Studio 2008's web server, it works but not in the UltiDev.... Damn !

I use the DLL from Microsoft (Interop.Excel).

Can you tell me if there is a hitch with my website or if it's normally and I have to search anything else !

Regarding the issue you are describing, the only thing that comes to mind is the possibility that your are running Cassini on a 64-bit machine and Excel interop DLL is 32-bit. Cassini runs as 64-bit process on 64-bit systems, and as 32-bit process on x86 systems. If this turns out to be a problem, please check this thread. We can send the 32-bit binaries to you via email.

Hi !

So I use Visual Studio Express 2008. I don't really know if it's a 32 or 64bit version.
But I am under WinXP or WinVista 32 bits for sure.

I have downloaded the "UltiDev Cassini Web Server for Visual Studio 2008 (v. 2.0.9)". Should I download an other version ?

If you want to send me the 32-bit binaries, I will thank you one more time !!!

Hi Keks!

If you are sure that the failure is happening on a 32-bit OS, then you don't need anything else.

Now could you please tell us how error is manifested, what error message to you get? Please also tell how do you run the app under Cassini: by running it from the debugger/command line, or by registering the app with Cassini?

When you register an application with Cassini, the main difference between VS web server and Cassini is that Cassini, and your application, run under "Local System" user account, while when you debug in Visual Studio, everything runs under your interactive user account. Differences in security access rights may affect application's behavior.

Hi !

The fact is that the error I get is not enable when I run my website under Visual Studio 2008.
So here is some informations : I have an .aspx page. In this page, there is a simple button who make a export of some
data in a Excel 2007 page. When I run under VS2008, I can see a new Excel's page open and do some operations.
When I run under UltiDev, I don't see anything happens. There is just an error in the end about the orientation of the page.
For the insert into Excel, I use the Microsoft Interop Excel's dll. Have I to move it in a special folder or have I to change
my code to make something else ?

Hello! We are glad to help.

Could you please tell us how do you run your application under UltiDev Cassini: do you
1) run "UltiDevCassinWebServer2.exe /run ..." command line hosting,
or
2) you registered the application with Cassini service using Cassini Explorer UI (http://localhost:7756/)?

If you registered the app with Cassini, consider debugging your code by attaching to Cassini process while running your application. This way you will be able to set breakpoints and catch the exception.

So I run the number 2 options, with the http://localhost:7756 !

But yesterday, I have change some things in my code, add some properties in my webpages and
now it works really fine !!! It's really great !
