If you want to create a Setup.exe/MSI-based redistributable application, then you are probably out of luck as Visual Web Developer Express may not allow creating Setup projects and therefore it may not be possible to package UltiDev Cassini and your web service into the installable set. You will need non-Express version of Visual Studio for that. But if you simply publish your web site from your development machine to a host machine, then you should be able to use UltiDev Cassini. To do that you will need
- Install Cassini 2.0 on the host machine;
- Create a folder for your web application on the host machine;
- Publish/copy your web application files from development box to the folder on the host machine - you can do it using Visual Web Developer;
- On the host machine register your application using Cassini Explorer;
You will do these four steps only once. After that every time you make changes to your development site you simply repeat step 3, the publishing, to push your changes to the Cassini server - you won't need to register application with Cassini every time you make a change.
Please remember that UltiDev Cassini is designed to be used primarily inside secured networks and hosting public web site under Cassini requires executing more advanced security procedures.
