You tell us :-). Seriously, please make the case for 3.5 support. We shuffle items in our to-do list trying to move the most important features to the top.
How we see it is that we are planning to add Visual Studio 2008 support to Cassini for ASP.NET 2.0, meaning there will be a VS 2008 Setup Project prerequisite of UltiDev Cassini for ASP.NET 2.0. We think that ASP.NET 2.0 +
Redistirbutable AJAX 1.0 are roughly equal ASP.NET 3.5 (minus WCF). Since we don't anticipate that most of redistributable intranet applications will require WCF, the need to support Framework 3.5 is not there yet. With relatively low penetration of 3.5 and given its humongous size, not really convenient for downloading, installing redistributable ASP.NET 3.5 application on clean XP will be a pretty long procedure. Eventually we will have to support 3.5, but next version of Cassini will probably not have it, unless you convince us we are wrong.
Best regards,
UltiDev Team.
